Has a celebrity death ever affected you? Obviously it’s normal to feel a little bit shocked or saddened by it, but have you ever been affected deeper than that?

I’ll admit, when Steve Irwin (the Crocodile Hunter) died, I was distraught and I feel like it personally affected me. I grew up watching him and he was a bit of an idol of mine, so when he passed away, it really got to me.

When Nelson Mandela died, I was very upset (I think I made a thread about it before).

It really makes you think that even people you don’t personally know can have a huge impact on your life by their actions and the way they live their lives. It’s kind of amazing that you don’t necessarily need human contact to feel a human connection.

    Thoughts? 🙂

    Hello,

Celebrity deaths do affect us. I was affected by Micheal Jackson and Whitney Houston deaths. They both were sad cases for me. The reason is that they never got the help they needed. You see I had family members that had drug issues just like these two. I know first the affects of them on your family. I was praying that they would be healed and set free from the drugs. Very sad cases. Lives gone to soon. I grew up listening to both of them and I wanted to see them Free. Peace and Blessings

    Hey Jennifer,

I suppose because you knew people personally who were going through the same things are MJ and Whitney Houston were going through, you could relate to them a little more so felt affected by their deaths. You’re right, they were very sad cases, but their memories definitely live on through the music. They will not be forgotten!
